My very first post..... and I have absolutely no idea what to write about.
I was staring at the blank screen for nearly 15 minutes and then it struck me that the only viable option for me to write about in my first blog-publishing is Myself.
I have never really understood what a blog is or what it dose. Yes I know what it is in technical terms but didn't quite understand what it referred to, until someone told me that it can be a space to think aloud and vent. Surprisingly this is exactly what I need.
A person in my position with my ethnic background and the situation I now am in, definitely needed a place to vent out without being probed or given advice. I just want to be heard and acknowledged.
Here goes.....
I am the eldest of 3 siblings, belonging to the female sex. 22 years, currently employed as an auditor in one of the big four. I am South-Indian:Tamil by birth but have spent all my childhood, schooling and university life outside of India. As the Indian government aptly brands me - an NRI (Non-Resident Indian). Almost feels as if I am placing an marriage proposal for myself. I assure that is NOT the case.
It should be understood that difficult and orthodox (although we pride ourselves in the fact that we aren't) with the South-Indian-Tamil ethnicity. Another very common fact that every Tamil family has in common is their love for America. At least one family member, be it distant or not, has to have a green card. If this isn't the case then they aren't truly South-Indian-Tamils.
Being a South-Indian-Tamil Girl working full time and studying part time in a secret relationship is not easy.
To be able to balance work life, family, studies and friends in itself is a a struggle but when added with the complexities of life brought on by myself which leads to unparalleled situations is quite another story.
